Parts, Performance Monitors, Model C
The PM5 Retrofit Kit comes complete with PM5 monitor programmed for use with the Model C, batteries and mounting hardware.
Sophisticated yet easy to use, the PM5 provides accurate, comparable data for every row. A backlight increases visibility, compatibility with USB flash drives makes storing your workout data a breeze, and you can wirelessly monitor your heart rate. ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart wireless heart rate monitoring with compatible equipment.
Fish Game
The Fish Game teaches you how to modulate intensity. The object of this game is to rack up as many points as possible by eating the nutritious fish while avoiding the large, toothy beasts that will send your score plummeting to the ocean floor.
Darts Game
The Darts Game rewards consistency in tempo and power output. If you’re learning how to keep a steady pace and stroke rate, or if you’re working to get comfortable at a new pace, the Darts Game is a terrific tool for you.
Target Training
Target Training is similar to Darts in that the object of the game is to hit as many bull’s-eyes as possible by maintaining a consistent pace and tempo. Target Training differs by allowing you to set your targets for pace and tempo. Target Training offers two modes of play: Just Play and Advanced.
Biathlon
Biathlon combines two sports: typically Nordic skiing and target shooting. Races generally consist of three or five laps, with a shooting stage (“range”) between each lap. A penalty is assessed for each missed shot. Most often, this is a penalty lap of 150 extra metres of skiing. You can use the Biathlon Game to ski or row intervals alternating with target shooting or some other activity.
Direct measurement of heart rate during exercise is a powerful tool for maximizing your training. Using a heart rate monitor makes it possible to train at your ideal pace and intensity, boosting your training benefits.
The PM5 provides an easy, powerful platform for heart rate training and supports ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart for wireless heart rate monitoring. To use this feature, you will need a chest belt that supports either ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart. All Garmin equipment sold by Concept2 is compatible with the PM5. Please note that the PM5 supports Bluetooth Smart, not Bluetooth, which is a different technology.
When you are using compatible heart rate equipment, the PM5 displays your heart rate data in real time during your workout or as part of your workout results for later analysis.
The immediacy and reliability of the Performance Monitor makes it ideal for racing and competition. Whatever the weather, it's now possible for you to compete against your teammates or workout rivals, whether they're in the same room or on another continent!
If you have more than one machine, it is possible to connect them for real-time racing. The PM5 supports wired machine to machine racing with a PC and USB cables.
The powerful capabilities of the Performance Monitor allow it to talk directly to a computer or mobile device, and there are a number of software programs available for use with the PM5. Below is a selection of some of our most popular programs.
Concept2 Utility
The Concept2 Utility is free software from Concept2 that allows you to manage the workout data on your USB LogBook or Concept2 Logcard. With the Concept2 Utility you can backup your workout data, chart your progress or analyze your historical performance. You can also upload your workout data to your Online Logbook.
ErgData
ErgData is a free application designed to run on iOS or Android devices. It can connect wirelessly via Bluetooth to the PM5. Once connected, it provides additional statistics, stores and displays your workout results, and uploads your workouts to the Concept2 Online Logbook.
Venue Race
The Venue Race Application allows you to link two or more indoor rowers or SkiErgs with PM3s, PM4s, or PM5s for racing. This program is designed to meet the needs of indoor rowing competitions, such as the CRASH-B race.
